The Rockies and shortstop Troy Tulowitzki are close to a mega-deal that may be as long as 10 years, according to a sources.
The Denver Post reported that Tulowitzki had agreed to a seven-year, $134 million extension through the 2020 season.
Tulowitzki is already signed through the 2013 season, with an option for 2014.

According to sources, Lowe will receive a one-year, $1.2 million contract.

Joaquin Benoit, perhaps the most dominant relief pitcher in the majors last season, agreed Wednesday to a $16.5M, three-year deal with the Tigers, according to a source close to the negotiations.
Benoit, 33, will receive an annual salary of $5.5M and has the opportunity to earn an additional $1M in incentives each season, the source said.
Westbrook, Cardinals Reach Two-Year Deal
The Cardinals and right-hander Jake Westbrook have reached an agreement on a two-year, $16.5 million contract.
The deal includes an $8.5 million mutual option for 2013.
Westbrook was acquired from Cleveland on July 31 and was 4-4 with a 3.48 ERA in 12 starts for the Cardinals.
